Uit de omgeving van Flying Lotus komt de 24 jaar jonge Jason Chung, aka Nosaj Thing (turbotaal voor Nosuchthing). Ook hij maakt die beat gedreven, experimentele electronica die hipsters glitch-hop hebben gedoopt. Maar zijn vorig jaar op Alpha Pup verschenen debuut ‘Drift’ toont duidelijk dat Nosaj Thing daar een heel eigen ding mee weet te doen. De tracks zijn eerder melancholische beatscapes waarin massa reverb in de omliggende ruimte lijken uit te deinen. Nosaj Thing maakt op die manier een mooi bruggetje naar dubstep zoals Burial die ook brengt. Bovendien speelde Nosaj Thing zich ondertussen ook al een stevige live reputatie bij elkaar – wat altijd mooi meegenomen is!
